This large agricultural village of about 3,300 inhabitants is located south of the Limbara mountain. The main activity of this village is the production of vermentino, a white wine very appreciated in Sardinia, which goes very well with seafood. Berchidda also produces an excellent and much sought-after pecorino. The village became famous thanks to Paolo Fresu, a jazz musician and composer from Berchidda. For many years, Fresu has organized a jazz festival here, which in August welcomes big names of international dimension. The concerts take place in the enchanting and wonderful setting of the forests surrounding Berchidda.
