A few kilometers north of Stintino, just a few fathoms from Capo di Falcone, lies one of Sardinia's most beautiful beaches. Its fine white sand and turquoise waters criss-crossed by underwater rocks will mesmerize even the most jaded. The sea is ideal for snorkelling. At the end of the stretch of sand, the 7th-century Aragonese tower of La Pelosa, which marks the boundary of the beach, is of exceptional beauty. In the distance, the island of Asinara emerges from the Maldives-coloured waters, while it seems as if you only have to stretch out your arm to touch the shore of Piana. In high season, however, this beach - neither very long nor very wide - is overcrowded... at least until September 15. The seafront pay parking lot is taken by storm, and the idea of parking a little further away is quickly forgotten at the sight of the steep hills surrounding the beach. A large part of the beach has been taken over by a bar that rents out deckchairs and umbrellas at a premium. Fortunately, as soon as the summer crowds return to their daily lives, La Pelosa beach regains its unrivalled charm and original beauty.
