5 km from Tempio, in the direction of Olbia, the quiet little town of Calangianus is surrounded by cork oak forests. The cork industry has developed strongly here and the area around the village is full of workshops and small factories. The only Italian professional school for cork processing is located here. In the small square of the village there are a few café terraces where the locals gather. This is also a region where bitter honey is produced and used to make seadas, cakes filled with fresh pecorino cheese and lemon peel, fried in oil and covered with bitter honey and sugar.
