A jewel of Romanesque art in northern Alsace, the church was part of a Benedictine convent consecrated in 1127. Inside, discover statues and tapestries from the early 16th century. The Saint-Michel chapel, restored in 1844, is accessed via a forest path. Just 50 metres from the chapel is a circular basin carved out of sandstone, known as the "School of Witches". Legend has it that Itta de Lutzenbourg, wife of the founder of the village abbey, practiced witchcraft here with her disciples. A staircase in front of the chapel leads to a cave where traces of a burial site have been found, but this remains a mystery.
