Dossenheim has a very rich historical heritage. Its fortified refuge is a site delimited by a defensive enclosure built around the 13th century around the parish church and its old ditch. In a house of the ecclesiastical enclosure, occupying the right of way of five cellars, was installed a place of exhibition retracing the reason of such a site. Do not miss the "D' WACHT" of the 19th century. This guardhouse made of pink sandstone from the Northern Vosges, with a façade and corner quoins made of ashlar, housed the local guard, a prison cell and the public scales.
