Over the centuries, the town was surrounded by ramparts, of which some remains remain. The 18th century brought a revival, and in the 19th century, thanks to the railroad, the town reached its peak. Today, Sarrebourg prospers, proud of its two-thousand-year history. As part of the Lorraine Regional Nature Park, it offers an exceptional living environment, divided between the Pays des Etangs, a paradise for nature lovers, the picturesque Vosges mountains and the rolling Lorraine plateau. Around Sarrebourg, you'll find picturesque villages and unspoilt natural sites to discover on a variety of historical routes and bucolic walks.
