A bucolic village, Porto Judeu boasts three chapels with three doors. Its colourful imperio is typical of those found on the island. The parish has a port and a beautiful bathing area. Located in a very dry region, Porto Judeu enjoys a dry, healthy microclimate. In 2006, the Azores regional government created the Islets das Cabras Special Protection Area, covering Ilhéus das Cabras and part of the adjacent coastline, to protect its important migratory bird colony. There are several options for eating out on site. Various establishments offer fairly decent cuisine.
