A short detour inland takes us to Fonte do Bastardo, where we can admire a colorful 1913 imperio and typical houses from Ramo Grande, a region that stretches between here and Agualva in the north of the island. The houses have their own distinctive features: they are built perpendicular to the road to keep out prying eyes, the two- or three-pane sash windows are painted in bright colors, and they are often flanked by staircases and parapets. On the heights, peace and tranquility emanate from this locality. One of Terceira's oldest villages.
