Santo António, like São Pedro and Algarvia, was part of the single municipality of Nordestinho, which was divided in 2003. With the new freeway, it can be reached in less than half an hour from the center of the island. It's a very pleasant, bucolic spot between land and sea. Its church is particularly noteworthy. Santo António de Nordestinho is an interesting option for a peaceful stay in this too-often neglected part of São Miguel. And it's all relative: Furnas is only 25 minutes away by car, Ribeira Grande 30 minutes, Ponta Delgada 45 minutes and Sete Cidades 1h15 away. It's not the end of the world!
