To the north of the Albanian, on the road to Geneva, at the crossroads of the ancient Roman roads towards Rumilly (to the south), Seyssel and Frangy (to the north-west) and Annecy (to the east), Vallières has seen a succession of Allobroges, Romans and Burgundians. Successively fief of the Counts of Geneva, taken over by the Duchy of Savoy, invaded by France, then belonging again to Savoy, its history is crossed by successive and striking influences. In 1626, on the road to Geneva, linking the town of Sales, the old Coppet bridge, with a single arch, was built over the Fier at a height of 17.5 metres! In the direction of Seyssel, the natural site of the Val de Fier offers a picturesque road winding in a typical parade overhanging it. Situated on a slightly hilly plateau, Vallières has developed its production (dairy, nursery and fruit growing), trade and service activities, as well as its businesses, which make it a pleasant village for families to live in.
