This residential village on the shores of Lake Annecy looks like a seaside resort. The Mount Veyrier which overhangs it - its western slope plunges into the lake - gives it its name. It is possible to climb to the top by a footpath that leads to the viewpoint of Mount Baron where the view plunges on Annecy, the Grand Lac and the Bauges! Veyrier-du-Lac has beautiful fortified houses (private) on the shore. It is in Veyrier-du-Lac that the chef Marc Veyrat chose to settle. The establishment has passed into the hands of the chef Yoann Conte, now a two-starred chef. For swimming, its beautiful La Brune beach has been awarded the Blue Flag.
