Gruffy is located between Annecy and Aix-les-Bains and is part of the Bauges Regional Natural Park. An ancient Roman road, traces of which can be found on two blocks with Latin inscriptions: an ex-voto dedicated to Jupiter and an inscription on a tomb. In the Middle Ages, its strategic location led to the construction of a castle with a keep, towers and a moat. Its position at one end of the vertiginous Abîme bridge (a metal bridge built in 1887, at a height of 96 meters), which spans the Chéran and links it to Cusy, makes it a starting point for beautiful walks such as the Cheminées des Tours Saint-Jacques (chimneys of the Saint-Jacques Towers), the Bange cave, the banks of the Chéran..
