The southernmost village of the Burgundy region but also the most mountainous. Mont Angèle dominates the landscape at an altitude of 1,606 m and attracts hikers who have a choice of many hiking and horseback riding trails, some of which are also popular with mountain bikers. But what really marks the landscape of this commune and its environment is the Couspeau mountain in the east and the Vesc Plateau in the west which leads to the Miélandre mountain (1,400 m). Finally, the Roubion, which rises above the village, makes its mark, most of the time calm and quiet, sometimes transformed into impetuous streams. Spread over 2,500 ha at an average altitude of 600 m, Bouvières has 160 inhabitants. The elders are happy to talk about this peasant land which still has two active goatherdsmen (Ferme du Faucon and Ferme Pascal Magnant). Bouvières is also known for its charcuterie, canned and ready meals from Olivier Paturel's establishments and the breeding of fat ducks from the Ferme du Bas Morans. A municipal campsite and a few cottages welcome tourists.
