This commune, which has a population of barely fifty inhabitants, is known to shelter the remains of the priory that bears its name and that you discover at the edge of the village from Salles-sur-Bois. The beautiful facade of its Romanesque church, topped by a two-bayed bell tower, remains. This church is called Notre-Dame-la-Brune, that is, Notre-Dame de la source. Indeed, within the church enclosure comes out a captured spring, always accessible. The Benedictine abbey of Aleyrac, built in the 12th century, passed into the hands of Baron de Grignan, Louis Adhémar de Monteil, in the 16th century.
