Located between the famous Sainte-Victoire and the Mont Aurélien, Trets is the world capital of the iris! A flower that blooms for 3 weeks in July, from a distance one could mistake the purple fields for lavender fields. 100 tons of rhizomes are harvested each year and distilled for the great perfumers. Go through the medieval gates and behind the ramparts that surround the heart of the town you will find many testimonies of the past to visit: the seigniorial castle, the church of Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth, or the chapel of Saint-Jean-du-Puy, an ancient hermitage isolated on a peak at 658 m, with a Romanesque apse.
