Gémenos is a small town of 6,200 inhabitants, located about 20 kilometres from Marseille. Clinging to the hills at the end of the Sainte-Baume massif, facing the sunset on the Garlaban side, it is located at the extreme east of the Bouches-du-Rhône, almost on the Var department, which it is close to. There are many points of interest on site: the Parc du Fauge, ideal for walking or resting in the shade of the tall trees, the wash house, the Rue des Artistes, the Rue de la Courtine which welcomed Maurice Chevalier and which offers a magnificent view of the Gémenos plain, the Garlaban and, in fine weather, the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, the Château d'Albertas, now the Town Hall, the fountains, the arcade halls and a few establishments that are worth a visit.

In the surroundings, you can walk in the park and the valley of Saint-Pons, the massif and the forest of the Sainte-Baume, go to Aubagne to visit the workshops of santonniers and ceramists and finally discover the places dear to Marcel Pagnol, the famous local child : The writer's birthplace, the "Petit Monde de Pagnol" (panoramic crib), walking tours through the hills, but also the places that served as a backdrop to his work such as Le Cigalon, the Château de la Buzine or the Mas de Massacan.
