In the Middle Ages, on the territory of Les Mées, thanks to the presence of 2 priories, that of Paillerols, dependent on the order of Chalais and that of Saint-Michel, dependent on Ganagobie, of the order of Cluny, the olive tree developed in number and in quality: the monks brought a lot of care and attention to all its culture. And then there is the church of Les Mées, whose first construction seems to date from the end of the 14th century. Called Notre-Dame-de-l'Olivier since the year 1400, it proves the importance of this tree. But THE curiosity of the region is the Rochers des Mées, an impressive procession of which some reach a height of 100 m
