Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is classified as one of France's most beautiful villages. Confined between two rocky escarpments, the first thing that catches your eye is the star that towers over the village, looking like a crib. According to Frédéric Mistral, it was hung by a crusader knight carried off by the Saracens, who promised to hang a star in homage to Mary if he managed to return to the village. Don't miss the parish church with its 12th-century Lombard bell tower, the Notre-Dame-de-Beauvoir chapel and the ramparts. You'll also discover that it's a renowned earthenware center.
