Walking through the small streets of Saint Michel, one discovers beautiful facades of the 17th century, a low church surmounted by the traditional campanile, and the church of Saint Peter of the 14th and 15th centuries. Further on, on the right, the "path of the stars" leads to a magnificent viewpoint, while telling the history of astronomy. In 1938, the Astronomical Observatory of Haute-Provence, one of the most important in Europe, was established, thus adding this word to the original name of the village. In 1998 the Astronomy Centre was opened on the spot, which organises observation evenings and receives trainees during the year.
