The name of the village comes from one of the personalities who marked the town, René-Antoine Ferchault de Réaumur, a physicist and naturalist, member of the Academy of Sciences, whose family owned land here. It is in the property of the grandfather, that is the Manor of Science. A site to see which offers a museographic tour in the world of this great scientist of the late seventeenth century, where you will discover the inventions of this genius. Also worth seeing is the beautifully renovated Sainte-Marie Chapel, the remains of the Plessis windmill and, along the footpaths in the Grand-Lay valley, the Moulin Crouton site
