The commune of Le Boupère is located in the heart of the Vendée bocage, in the centre of a triangle formed by the cantons of Pouzauges, Chantonnay and Les Herbiers. In the hills of the Vendée, the commune of Le Boupère, situated between two valleys, the Grand Lay and the Petit Lay, has a fortified church. Classified as a historical monument, the Saint-Pierre church is a Romanesque building from the end of the 12th century, fortified in the 15th century during the Hundred Years War and enlarged at the end of the 19th century. Another curiosity to see: the two barns, in the hamlet of Haute-Forestrie, with their Philibert Delorme-style roofs, have a particular attraction.
