Numerous vestiges attest to an occupation as early as the prehistoric period, then in the Neolithic period. Funerary vases and bricks with rims from the 4th century have been found near the church. Cheffois is nestled in a valley crossed by a stream that joins the Loing, a tributary of the Grand Lay. It is located between the rocks of Mouilleron en Pareds to the west and the hill that shelters the old quarry to the east. Don't miss inside its classified church, the Well of the Samaritan woman, the Holy Family, and the classified recumbent statue (a Christ at the tomb of 1,80 m). A visit to the quarries overlooking the river and to the chapel of the Mountain is mandatory.
