Les Carrières de Cheffois is a curious site well worth a visit

In the Chataigneraie area, there is a singular site not to be missed, it is the Cheffois quarries. On this ancient Gallic oppidum, a vein of quartzite was exploited for a long time, a stone used for roadways and railroads. The "hole" is now a lake. It is a curious site that is worth a visit.
