It was a Roman centurion, Serenus, who gave his name to Sérignac-sur-Garonne. During a short walk, you will discover the charm of this village. The main street, lined with angle iron and half-timbered houses, extended by a beautiful avenue of plane trees, leads to the canal and its nautical stop. But the curiosity of the village comes from the church, more precisely from its bell tower which twists towards the sky. It is indeed a spiral bell tower of the 16th century and beautifully restored since. If the forests encircled the village in Gallo-Roman times, Sérignac is now surrounded by farmland and the Buzet appellation vineyards.
