Situated on the plateau overlooking the Dordogne valley to the south, Nadaillac-de-Rouge is a commune initially populated by holm oaks and pines, cattle and a privileged few! During a country stroll, you can admire a magnificent castle classified as a historical monument. Destroyed during the Hundred Years War, the building was rebuilt between the 15th and 18th centuries. The church, which has a Gothic bell-tower-wall is the former chapel of the castle. Built from 1400 onwards, it has been attacked several times during the Wars of Religion. Nadaillac-de-Rouge has a well-known name: the political scientist Edmond Jouve.
