At the confluence of the Lot and Lémance rivers stands a fortified village in which one can admire the imposing silhouette of the Benedictine priory of Saint-Géraud. The village is very beautiful with its sloping streets that linked the old town (upper town) and the lower town with its commercial artery. The Romanesque church is attached to the prieural castle. Exterior chapels were added and a bell tower supported by four pillars with capitals and numerous Romanesque sculptures. In the Middle Ages, the church attracted the "romieux", passing strangers, because it contained relics. Every Thursday, the largest market in the region is held here.
