Montlaur is a typical village of about 600 inhabitants, located on the Rougier de Camarès. In 1868, 10 km long irrigation canals were built to provide water for individual gardens and fields. The water for the canal is taken from the Dourdou, a river that rises in the western part of the Espinouse massif and flows into the Tarn. This irrigation has allowed for the creation of meadows and food storage for the sheep, which has resulted in an increase in the production of Roquefort. In 2018, the commune celebrated the150th anniversary of the canal! Don't miss the Saint-Martin church in the village
