Rich in a past dating back to the Gallo-Roman era, this small commune retains many vestiges including sarcophagi and the altar of Saint Etienne. Since its subsoil is rich in copper and lead, it has long been the subject of exploitation. In the hamlet of Andabre, there is a mineral rich water, recommended for kidney and liver diseases. The Romans, who affectionnaient the thermal baths, exploitèrent this spring near the Roman path. A block building is still there.
