In the th century, the site was conquered by the Hospitals of Saint John. It was a center and strengthened, as shown by the Gothic tower and the ruins of the th century fortification. The village lived in the vicinity of a source and its artisanal activity on the road between the Larzac and Saint-Affrique. Upstream and downstream of the village, the valley of the Sorgues (very popular by fishermen during the season), wide and green, lends itself to the promenade.
