On the border between Hérault and Aveyron, Montagnol is located in this department. This charming village is located on a small plateau between the Sorgues and Nuéjouls valleys. It has been occupied since the Neolithic period as proven by the discovery of the statue-menhir of La Verrière (which is now kept in the Fenaille Museum in Rodez) Cénomes is a district of Montagnol. It shelters a Roman silver mine (1st century BC), which has been well preserved. It usually opens its doors during the Heritage Days
