Opposite Sainte-Lucie, Saint-Léger-de-Peyre can be reached via a small road that winds its way along the cliffside along these valleys, offering one of the finest views of the Enfer gorges. It's a very narrow, but oh-so-picturesque route, where you'll discover a major work of art on the Béziers-Neussargues railroad line: the Enfer viaduct, a stone monument that seems to soar towards the sky, the result of the genius of engineer Léon Boyer. The village itself boasts some fine 16th- and 17th-century houses, typical of the rural architecture of the Gévaudan region.
