Destroyed in the early 18th century during the Cevennes War, which pitted the Protestant Camisards against the Catholic royal troops of Louis XIV, Vergèze's agricultural activity in the following centuries focused on the vine. Today, this rich winegrowing past is reflected in the village's architecture. But it's above all the Perrier company that gives the town of Vergèze its dynamism today, with the industrial exploitation of the natural source of Perrier mineral water, whose museum you won't want to miss. Vergèze is a peaceful village where you'll always be seduced by the beauty of its surroundings and the charm of its past.
