After centuries of separation, these two Gard territories were reunited in 1808. They belonged to the viguerie and diocese of Nîmes in the 16th century, which explains their shared history and the proximity of the two populations. Today, Vestric-et-Candiac covers 1,092 hectares and has a population of 1,285. Architecturally rich, the commune boasts two magnificent châteaux. Vestric-et-Candiac also boasts a Protestant temple dating from the 19th century. The village is the center of many festivities. On the last Wednesday in July, the village comes alive for four days during the fête votive.
