3 km south of the town of Anduze, Tornac is, at the crossroads of formerly important roads, a high place of Camisarde history. Its castle, whose origin dates back to the 11th century, ensured the control of the Cevennes foothills by dominating the fertile Gardon valley. Offering an incomparable view of the southern plains, Anduze and the vineyards of Tornac, it occupies a neuralgic position on a naturally fortified rocky massif. Impressive bastion with its square tower typical of the Middle Ages, it is still today the object of excavations and restoration. Accessible all year round, bring good shoes and a picnic!
