Doudou, on the N 11, is about km (relatively bad) track from Gaoua to Ghana. In a superb landscape, this small village is known for its market that takes place every 5 days. Coming from all the neighbouring villages, women and men converge for the great day by using all means of transport within reach or more precisely foot… because it is often walking that the women arrive, bearing on their goods. Men use more bikes and their luggage racks to transport heavy objects. Those who come from afar arrive by truck. The market is then organised in several sectors (food, fabric, clothing, equipment…). But the star is, of course, the gold market, provided by orpailleuses (men who do not have the right to exploit gold). Contact the guide to find out what day the market is taking place. Like all major markets, the atmosphere is at party and exchange.
