Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort, crossed by the Vidourle river, is a small town in the Gard region located on the southern slope at the foot of the Cévennes. The town was very prosperous from the 18th century thanks to the silk industry, whose history is recounted in the Silk Museum, located in the former barracks built under Louis XIV. The town also boasts an impressive number of ancient fountains and sundials, as well as some beautiful 17th and 18th century facades with elaborate doors and balconies. Don't hesitate to stroll through the streets in search of traces of the past and enjoy the atmosphere of this southern village.
