Located 1 km south of Guiry-en-Vexin, Wy-dit-Joli-Village has a surprising name. Wy is a deformation of the Latin word vicus which means "village". As for the nickname, it comes from an anecdotal fact whose veracity cannot be sworn. Legend has it that Henry IV's carriage got bogged down in a street in this village, which mischievously made the king say: "Ah, the pretty village". Without malice, it is true that the village is very pretty! And don't worry, nowadays, you can easily walk around Wy and stop to admire its 12th century church, or to visit the amazing Tool Museum.
