Wooded hillsides form the backdrop of this village which stretches to the mouth of the Sausseron, a small river which flows into the Oise. With its narrow streets, it is home to an old winegrower's house, a 13th century church dedicated to Saint Quentin, the Orgivaux castle and several mills on its territory. One of them, called "de la Naze", houses the "Maison de la Meunerie". A legend says that it inspired Jean de La Fontaine for his fable "The miller, his son and the donkey". The city has also welcomed illustrious residents such as the cartoonist Honoré Daumier, the writer Georges Duhamel and the painter Maurice de Vlaminck
