It is one of the 100 most beautiful detours in France. This "park city", nestled between river and forest, is a river stopover of character and a chic and gastronomic stopover. The former small Gallic village, occupied by the Romans and then entrusted to the monks of the Saint-Denis abbey, has seen the Norman drakkars pass through. In a fortified castle, built in 825, settled the lord Adam. It is for its reputation of tourist and seaside resort that one went in the XIXth century in this "Small Deauville". Today, its golf course and its river beach, the largest in France, with its fine sand and its old-fashioned cabins are its major attractions.
