Today, the crossroads city, by which you pass in the department of the Eure or in the Oise area, Saint-Clair-sur-Epte is the most northerly municipality in the Val-d'Oise. It was here that in 911 a treaty was signed between the King of France Charles III the Simple and the Vikings, to which the Duchy of Normandy was granted.
