With over 8,000 inhabitants, Bessancourt is divided into two parts: one composed of farmland and forests, the other of urbanized areas around its center. Crossed by the A115 freeway and the H line, providing fast links with the capital, the town backs onto the Montmorency hill. In this unspoilt setting, the town is active and commercial, and boasts a remarkable heritage, including the church of Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais, listed as a historic monument over a century ago. The town center is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment, with the aim of giving nature pride of place.
