On the edge of the Armainvilliers forest, this village was known until the 1950 s for its famous fair, Monthéthy. Maurice de Sully, Bishop of Paris, created the eponymous abbey in 1167. But a few decades later, she disappeared. His land and property, including the chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, returned to Hyverneaux Abbey. From the end of the Great War, and given its proximity to the railway coming from Paris, the city saw its population grow rapidly. It comes to enjoy large green spaces, its golf in mind, just a few minutes from Paris.
