Joinville-le-Pont is a city of nearly 18,000 inhabitants. Originally a village dependent on Saint-Maur, this commune was born in 1831 and owes its name to François d'Orléans, prince of Joinville, son of Louis-Philippe. In the 19th century, guinguettes were set up on the banks of the Marne where Parisians came to dance and have fun, as illustrated by the famous song that you may be humming as you read these lines! Today, there are still many testimonies of this period and the tradition of the guinguettes is still alive. Film and television studios, closed in 1987, also brought a lot of fame to Joinville-le-Pont
