Thanks to the railroad, this village on the banks of the Seine was a popular place for fishermen and impressionist painters in the 19th century. In the second half of the 19th century, Colombes became an industrial city and was covered with pavilions and social housing. A stadium and the Pierre-Lagravère park were built there. Located on a former island of 25 ha attached to the land, it offers various facilities and opportunities for walking. The city has many bicycle paths and as many parking points for bicycles. Today, benefiting from the expansion of the La Défense district, the city has over 85,000 inhabitants.
