The current city also includes the former commune of Écuquetot since the 19th century. These two properties created by the Anglo-Normans between the 10th and 11th centuries still have the same fertile land and although the municipality is developing, it should be recalled that the territory is mainly agricultural and that the region continues to exploit its wealth in a rational way for the benefit of all. The station, opened in 1896, has not been served since 1970. The elders of Turretot testify to the links that exist in the country of Caux. About 1944, they say this: many Le Havre residents, who may or may not have had family in the countryside, had found refuge there, far from bombing and restrictions. The German occupier was also in Turretot, but so was the Resistance, working with the Resistance in Le Havre. From Turretot and all the municipalities, we saw the bombardment of the port and the city of Le Havre from 5 to 11 September 1944. The lights of the blaze, at night, blushed the sky, and during the day, the fumes obscured it. The Liberation was experienced in Turretot with the installation of Canadian troops. Everyone then contributed to the reconstruction.
