Set out in a horseshoe shape on the mountainside, Vero's architecture is homogeneous, with old gray granite houses, vaulted ceilings and old roofs. The parish church, with its small square bell tower, has been completely restored and contains two beautiful 17th-century statues of the Baptism of Christ and the Virgin and Child. Next to Vero are the ruins of the Church of St. John the Baptist. There are also three oil mills, historic symbols of the craft still alive today. Continuing along the D4 towards the Col de Tartavello, you enter the Cruzzinu valley, with its unspoilt villages of Pastricciola, Rezza, Azzana, Salice and Rosazia.
