Carbuccia is an old mountain village with stone houses, staircases and an ancient heritage. You can visit the parish church of St. James, with its Baroque architectural features, which has been remodeled several times. Its pyramid-shaped bell tower is unusual on the island. The ONF (French forestry agency) has set up an educational trail at several stations, enabling visitors to learn more about the forest and its life. Away from the village, you'll find numerous prehistoric settlements: rock shelters and fortified folds, as well as medieval remains (chapels and hermitages).
