Perched on a mountain ridge, the village of Ucciani stands out for its beautiful old square houses and its fine ensemble of arches, narrow streets and stairways. The elegant late 18th-century curved bridge over the Gravona was built in part thanks to Bernadotte, then a soldier in the royal army in 1786. Ucciani was also a refuge for Napoleon in 1793, when he fled from the followers of Pasquale Paoli. The Sant'Antonio parish church has two main points of interest: a 16th-century marble statuette representing Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and a bell dating from 1715.
