Tavaco is a charming, well-restored village nestled in greenery and overlooking the Gravona. It offers magnificent views over the gulfs of Ajaccio and Sagone. You can also visit the church of Saint-Martin. In front of its altar stands an anchor, testimony to the villagers' victory over the Moors in 1429. The ascent of Mount San-Eliseo offers grandiose panoramic views over the gulfs of Ajaccio and Sagone and the Cinarca, Prunelli and Gravona valleys (4h round trip). For keen canyoning enthusiasts, the Val di Famita creek spot offers some fine abseiling. Caution: highly technical area.
