Situated on two opposite hills, the two hamlets dominate the Prunelli. It is in this setting that Sampiero Corso was killed in 1567, murdered in an ambush by the Ornano family, to avenge the death of their daughter Vannina. A stele was erected in the maquis at the place of the battle in 1891. Suarella is lively, with a central square and its fountain where all the inhabitants meet. In the hamlet of Eccica, there are typical old houses, an elegant bell tower and shady paths to discover the maquis. After Eccica, on the D103, there is a pleasant swimming spot along the Prunelli river, in the direction of Ocana, at the Vanne bridge.
